Privacy Policy

1. Overview

CleanWhiteBG is an online tool that removes image backgrounds and replaces them with a white or transparent background. This policy explains what we process, for how long, and who else gets to see it. The short version: we delete your images automatically and fast, we don't train AI on them, and we only share them with the AI provider that performs the processing you requested.

2. Images you upload

Uploaded images are stored on Cloudflare infrastructure solely to perform the background removal you requested.

• Standard mode runs on our own inference service hosted on Cloudflare. Your image is not sent to any third-party AI provider.
• Quality modeadditionally sends your image to a third-party generative AI provider (Alibaba Cloud's DashScope service) to perform the processing. We send only the image and a fixed processing instruction — no account data.
• We do not use your images to train any AI model, and we do not sell, share or use them for any purpose other than processing your request.

3. Retention and deletion

Uploaded images and working previews are automatically and permanently deleted within 2 hours. Processed results are kept only so you can download them: a result is deleted shortly after you download the full-resolution image, and in any case within 7 days of processing — whichever comes first. Free previews (and the full-resolution copy held back for you to unlock) are kept for that same 7-day window at most. Job records (technical metadata linking an upload to its result) are deleted together with the images. After that the data is gone and cannot be recovered.

4. Account data

Signing in is optional and only required for paid features. When you sign in we store:

• Google sign-in: your Google account identifier, email address, display name and profile picture, as provided by Google Identity Services.
• Email sign-in: your email address. Magic-link sign-in emails are delivered via Cloudflare's email service.
• Credit balance and subscription status, so the tool knows which features you can use across devices.

We never receive your Google password. Signing out clears your session cookie; you can request account deletion at any time (see section 9).

5. Payments

Subscriptions and credit packs are sold through our payment provider Creem. Card and payment details are processed by Creem and never reach our servers. We receive and store the information needed to grant your purchase: your user id, the product purchased, and the email address associated with the payment.

6. Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how the site and tool are used (page views, tool events, paywall interactions). Analytics never includes image content or the content of your results. You can opt out via your browser settings or Google's opt-out tools.

7. Cookies

We use a single strictly-necessary cookie (cwb_session) that keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. It contains no tracking identifiers. Google Analytics may set its own cookies as described above.

8. Service providers

We rely on the following processors, each bound by their own data protection terms:

• Cloudflare — hosting, storage and in-house image processing.
• Alibaba Cloud (DashScope) — third-party AI processing for Quality mode only.
• Creem — payment processing.
• Google — sign-in (Google Identity Services) and analytics.

9. Your rights

You can access and correct your account data from the account menu, and sign out at any time. To delete your account and its associated data (email, credits, subscription link), email us at hello@cleanwhitebg.com and we will process the request. Because images are auto-deleted as described in section 3, there is generally no image data left to delete by the time you ask.

10. Children

The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date below.
