About CleanWhiteBG
CleanWhiteBG does one thing: it puts your photo on a clean white background — or a transparent one — in a single click. This page is the “why” behind that one thing: who builds it, what we promise, and how we treat your photos. See also our privacy policy and terms of service.
Why we built it
Removing a background is a thirty-second job. Yet most tools turn it into a maze: sign-up walls before you see any result, watermarks stamped on the download, heavyweight editors for a one-off task, or “free” services that quietly keep and reuse your photos. CleanWhiteBG is the tool we wanted to exist: upload, get a clean result, move on with your day.
What “free” means here
Free is not a demo. You can try the tool without an account, and the free download — a real, usable image up to 480px on the long side — comes with no watermark. The download button always shows the exact pixel size before you commit. Credits only enter the picture when you want the full-resolution file or the higher-quality processing; failed jobs are refunded automatically.
Your photos are guests, not assets
We treat uploaded images as something we hold briefly, not something we own:
- Deleted fast. Uploaded images and working previews are automatically and permanently deleted within 2 hours. Processed results are removed shortly after you download them, and never kept longer than 7 days.
- Never used for training. We do not train AI models on your images, and we don't sell or share them.
- Standard mode stays in-house. Standard processing runs on our own infrastructure hosted on Cloudflare — your photo never leaves it. Quality mode adds a pass through an external AI provider for the premium result; the details are in the privacy policy.
Small on purpose
CleanWhiteBG is built and run by a small, independent team. That keeps the product focused: no feature sprawl, no upsell maze, no design-suite bloat — just background removal that works. It also means feedback goes straight to the people who ship the code. Write to hello@cleanwhitebg.com and a human reads it.
